Makeup FX - this is a GREAT site for those interested in make-up effects. It has tutorials on many aspects of makeup FX including casting & foam latex application, creating false teeth, use of wigs, and more traditional make-up application for effect. Sound FX Star Wars Sound FX - ever wondered how they got those weird and wonderful sounds in Star Wars (and sequals/prequals), this is a good site that explains basically how each of the more famous effects was created, has some other useful links regarding audio FX too. Findsounds - great for finding sound effects on the net
Online Help & Communities WWUG - the world wide user group, a collection of forums regarding every aspect of computer based creative subject known to man. If you are having a problem with a particular application, or want tips and tricks from your peers in order to achieve a particular effect, this is a good place to start (they have both interactive forums as well as online tutorials for a lot of things). Here are the links for the After Effects and Commotion WWUG forums. Adobe Support Database - this is a great resource if you use any Adobe software (not just After Effects or Photoshop). Here you have a complete online database of all the problems the Adobe tech support folk have uncovered over the years, plus the solutions & work arounds, ...forget calling tech support, this is faster and best of all its free, check this site out!! Avid Online Support - online resource for users of Avid NLE systems (including FAQ and updater downloads) HighEnd2D - Technical resource for high end (film) 2D Compositing features news, downloads, macros, chatrooms, etc
